August 20, 1943 to August 8, 2003

Sandra Toland, 59, of Superior, died Friday at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, Minn., after a courageous battle with cancer called multiple myeloma. She was born in Duluth, to Einard and Myrtle (Lindberg) Erickson and was a longtime area resident. She attended Arnold Elementary, Washington Junior High and graduated from Duluth Central in 1961. Sandra married Richard Toland on May 14, 1977. She was a former member of Good Shepherd Church a current member of Zion Lutheran Church. Sandra was employed as an accountant/bookkeeper of Gujer Advertising and Fochs and Associates in Duluth, WDSM and KZIO Radio, Easy Housing and Dee Independent. She had lived in Gordon, Wisc. for 10 years before moving to Superior in 1998. Special thanks to all the great help and care from Dr. Dalton, all the St. Mary's staff and to Julie and Randy. She will always be remembered for her great love of her grandchildren. Sandra will be sadly missed.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents. Sandra is survived by her husband Richard; three daughters, Dena (Armand) Parisien, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Susan (Jim) Johnston III, Newfane, VT, Shannon Toland, Superior; 14 grandchildren, Kirsten, Madison, Halie, Sydney, Emma, Chase, Brittany, Alexis, Tiffany, Leah, Jordan, Jerad, Elaine and Rob; three brothers, Raymond (Barbara) and Edward (Darlene) Erickson, both of Duluth, Leonard (Kim) Erickson, Concord, Calif.; many nieces and nephews; three stepsons, Ricky (Laurie) Toland, Randy (Julie) Toland and Ronny (Sheryl) Toland all of Duluth.
