After high school I attended UMD, graduating in 1965. In Jan. of 1966 I moved to the Denver area working as a city planner with a consulting firm. Over the next 17 years I held positions as Planning Director for the City of Aurora, CO, Development Manager for a large home builder and a manufacturers representative for a several state area. In 1983 I took a sales position with an automobile dealership, a career which I am still semi-involved in today.

While living in Colorado my interests included hunting, fishing, showing American Saddlebred horses and following the Denver Broncos (still a huge fan). Traveling included numerous long weekends in Las Vegas, a Super Bowl in Pasadena, CA, a road trip to the east coast, a vacation in Cancun as well as attending many horse shows throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.

In 1995 I found myself single, longing to get back to my "roots" and wanting to live closer to my folks who were getting up there in years and still living in Duluth. I was offered the position of General Sales Manager for a growing dealership in Sioux Falls, SD and accepted it. Two months after moving I met my wife Deb. We were married in June of 1997. In 2005 the owner of the dealership had an offer he couldn't refuse and sold out. He subsequently bought another dealership 80 miles away in Yankton, SD. I semi-retired a few years ago but spend two days a week in Yankton helping out when I'm not fishing or traveling.

Deb and I love to fish, especially walleyes. We spent our honeymoon fishing in Canada and this summer will be making our 18th and 19th trips in the last 15 years back to the same lake. When not in Canada during the summer we fish the Missouri River reservoirs and glacial lakes in SD. Between us we have five children and five grandchildren. Our 11 year old grandson really got into fishing last summer and it's a special treat to take him with us. We like to go where it's warm in the winter and especially enjoy Caribbean cruises. In the past 12 years we have been on 11 cruises and taken a trip to Hawaii. In the fall we take a few days and visit the children and grandchildren still living in the Denver area. Fifty years after graduating from high school I can honestly say that "life is awesome'.
