Gerry passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. Gerry was born to Fred & Ester Nervick.  He graduated from Duluth Central High in 1961.  Gerry served in the Army National Guard in Duluth and the US Army in Colorado Springs, Colo.  Following his service to the country he returned to Duluth and resumed his employment with the Insulators Union Local 49 where he had also served as a union official for many years.  He married Sandra Johnson on July 1, 1967 in Duluth and together they had one daughter. Gerry loved working with his hands and spent many hours on woodworking projects for his home and Kenwood Lutheran Church where he was a longtime member. Many who knew him said he could fix anything.  If you needed help assembling a play-set or just in need of a smile, Gerry was your guy. He loved to fish and spent many years taking trips to the Boundry Waters with family and friends.  He also loved to play golf and was sure to be seen and heard on the course most weekends.  Gerry was most "in his element" when he was using his great sense of humor to entertain family and close friends of which there were many. Gerry will be remembered for his mischievous nature, impish smile, easy laugh, and love for people.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife and partner, Sandy, daughter Missy, grandchildren Drew and Emma, brother Fred Jr. (Viga) Nervick and sister Janice (Harry) Podgorski all of Duluth; brother Kevin (Jaquie) Nervick of Conifer, Colo; and numerous inlaws.
