Education: I graduated from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota in 1966. Having my friend and our classmate Bob Nelson for my roommate made campus life fun and very memorable. Thanks Bob.

Family: My high school sweetheart (Margaret Bodley - Duluth East '61) became my bride in 1965. Daughter Katie lives in Newton, MA, and was married in April. Daughter Sara lives in Marblehead, MA, and is expecting our third grandchild in July.

Career: I was the director of pharmacy services for St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, MN, from 1968 to 2005. I was fortunate to be at the medical center during that period of significant growth and expansion of clinical pharmacy services. I have enjoyed ownership of a pharmacy consulting service. And Margaret and I were partners in a sport quilt business.

Retirement: We moved to Cape Elizabeth, Maine, in 2005. We miss our Minnesota friends very much, but now enjoy more frequent gatherings with our family. Our winter sport is cross-country skiing. I race 2-3 times each season. In 2008 I skied in my first Masters World Cup in McCall, Idaho. And this year I completed my 30th American Birkebeiner. When the snow melts, my sport is running, from 10K to 100K. The marathon is my favorite distance and I usually run two marathons each year. In June I completed my 67th marathon at Lake Placid, NY. Sailing is one summer activity we both enjoy. We started with a sail on our Grumman canoe, and this year have an Island Packet 380. Biking and tennis fill in the other days.

Spectator Sports: Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox - can it get much better?
