James B Hoffman, 53, formerly of Duluth, died Sunday in his home in El Paso, Texas, after a long illness. He graduated from Central High School in 1961, attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth and was manager at Shoppers City and the Target store.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda; a son, David of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Michelle Stonehouse of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Luther of Huntsville, Ala., and Larry of Saudi Arabia; and one grandson.
