Rosemary (Rosie) Soumala, 56, of Andler Road, died of lung cancer Tuesday in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born in Brule to John and Mae Madsen. She was a member of Elim Lutheral Church, Country Western Stomp Club of Palo and Superior Moose Lodge 606. Rosie enjoyed cross-country skiing and line dancing, and she touched the lives of many people because of her kindness, generosity and sense of humor. She and her husband shared 25 wonderful years, and she was a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna. Surviving are her husband, Allen; daughters Heather and Kimberly of Duluth; sisters Betty (Erling) Hansen and Beverly (LeRoy) Nelson of Duluth; Judith (Rob) Grytness of Forest Lake, Minn. And Patricia (Dan) Relsem of Austin Texas; a brother, John (Jenn) Madsen of South Range; and several nieces and nephews.
