John K. McKeever Jr., 57, of Crestview, Fla., formerly of Duluth, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, after a lengthy illness. John graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1961. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served in Vietnam. Upon returning to Duluth, he worked for Zenith Spring Co. John enjoyed racing stock cars at various tracks around the area before moving to Florida, where worked illness forced his retirement. He loved the outdoors and loved and cared for many pets over the years. He was a former member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Duluth. John was preceded in death by his father; his mother and stepfather, Mary and Lloyd "Andy" Anderson; and his brother, Daniel.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Crestview; a daughter, Elizabeth "Lisat" McKeever, a stepson, Chad Nicholai, a sister, Mary (Terry) Stromdahl, and brother David (Linda) McKeever, all of Duluth and brother Timothy (Ann) McKeever of Pensacola, Fla., a nephew, David Stromdahl and nieces Jodi Stromdahl, Tina McKeever, Amanda McKeever and Julie McKeever; and many other relatives. His suffering is now over, may he rest in the arms of the Lord.
