1961-1962: Worked as a caddy master running the caddy shack at Ridgeview Country club, and in the fall at Land O Lakes Turkey processing plant at Thief River Falls, I lived at my brother Bill in 2019 at his home there. In the winter of 1961-1962 worked in a logging camp north of Upper Red Lake.

1963-1966 Joined the Air Force with Russ Morrison and Gary Hogland. Gary was turned down by the Air Force and joined the Marines who made him an officer and fighter pilot. We lost Gary in Vietnam. I served in Germany and Turkey carrying out top secret missions.

1967 to 1971: Worked for the Bureau of Land Management fighting forest fires as a fire control technician. In 1969 was the crew foreman of the Anchorage District Hotshot crew. Got married in Jan. 1970. Ran the Skilak Fire Guard station on the Kenai Peninsula in 1970 and 1971.

1986-2002 Received the Forest Manger’s position at the Jicarilla Agency, Dulce New Mexico. Got divorced again in 1990. Became legal guardian of two Jicarilla Children, Donna and Earl Montoya in 1986. Remarried in 1994. In October 2000 I lost my second son, Earl killed by a drunk driver at Dulce. Retired in March 2002 with 33 years of federal service including my military time.

2003- to present: Spent most summers at my small cabin three miles south of Marcell doing a lot of fishing, I will be back there again next summer. In the fall of 2008 my third wife Maureen divorced me, three strikes and you are out.
