On Halloween in 1964 I married the love of my life (Richard Frank) so I could be with him in St. Paul. I got a job as an Electrical Tech at Gould Battery where I stayed for 5 years. By this time I had my first daughter (Kristina) and we were ready to buy a home. We bought our first home in Eagan, MN. Soon after that, I had my second daughter (Karla). Then in 1974 Dick's employer (United Airlines) had a cut back, so we had to decide if we should move to keep his job or look for a new one. We decided on a move to Denver Colorado, There we made our home in Northglenn, which is just north of Denver.

I got an Engineering Assistance job in the research department at FMC Corp. Every summer we came back to Minnesota to enjoy all the lakes for a few weeks. Then in the fall of 1978 Dick's dad, who lived in Janesville WI, was having failing health. Dick was able to get a transfer to Milwaukee, so he could be near his dad, the lakes and the fishing he loved to do. We bought a home in Muskego Wisconsin and I got a job at Delco Electronics (General Motors). We settled down to raising our girls and enjoyed all our traveling adventures (with Dick working for the airlines we were able to travel to many places)

Then in May of 1997, when both our daughters had completed their college education and Dick had only 6 months to retiring, Dick had a heart attack at work. I kept on working at Delco, because I had a good job working in the shipping and purchasing departments as a material controller. Then in 2002 my daughter Karla talked me into buying this home on the river in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. I did this because it is where she lived and didn't think that I should be in Muskego by myself with no family around. Also, I would be closer to my other daughter Kristina who lives in Richfield, MN. So in 2006 when they were asking us to retire early, I did and in 2007 I moved here for good.

I enjoy living here on the backwaters of the Black River. I love the birds and the wild life around me and the smaller city and slower pace of life that is offered here. I have two grandchildren in Richfield and one here in LaCrosse and one on the way. I enjoy being with my grandchildren and watching them grow. Also, I enjoy the beauty of this area it is really something to see.
