Information update: 10/08/2018

Since graduation I received a teaching degree from UMD and taught middle school in White Bear Lake, MN for 34 years. I also was in the Army National Guard for 10 years. I live in Mora, MN now that I'm retired because I enjoy small city living and I'm half way between Duluth and St. Paul. I coached youth basketball and football after my son came along and he went on to play pro-football in Sweden. He is now a high school principal in Wisconsin. My daughter is a beautician in Elk River. My favorite activities are camping and fishing and watching Twin's and Vikings.

Kenneth Charles Lindstrom, of Mora, formerly of Hugo, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. He was 75 years old.

Kenneth was born on March 22, 1943 in Duluth, Minnesota to parents Oscar and Wilhelmina (Thorsell) Lindstrom. Ken attended school in Duluth, graduating from Duluth Central High School in 1961. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Minnesota- Duluth. Ken spent the majority of his teaching career in the White Bear Lake school district, teaching 6th grade math.

On August 2, 1969, Ken was united in marriage to Cynthia Lynn Billstrom at the Sandstone Congregational church. They made their home in Hugo and were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Todd. In 1996, Ken and Cindy moved to a home on Fish Lake in Mora. Ken retired in 1999 after teaching for 33 years. Ken and Cindy enjoyed retirement by taking trips to the north shore and Lake Superior with their beloved dogs. In 2015, they moved to the Villages Apartments in Mora.

Ken loved the outdoors; fishing and camping. He was an avid sports fan, especially football and baseball — cheering for the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. Ken liked to play card games, excelling at smear and cribbage. Throughout his life, Ken had a strong faith and was active in his church communities at the Shephard of the Fields in Hugo, South Shore Trinity in White Bear Lake, and Zion Lutheran in Mora. Most of all Ken loved his family and the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Ken will be remembered for his kindness, patience, and huge heart. He will be dearly missed.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, and brother William Lindstrom.

He is survived by his wife Cindy; son Todd (Danielle); daughter Kimberly (Lee) Kupczynski; 6 grandchildren, Emalee, Logan, Brody, Kaden, Brenden, and Madisen; sister Donna (Maury) Johnson; sister-in-law Barbara Lindstrom; brother-in-law Thomas (Shirley) Johnston; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial service will be Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 401 S. Hwy 65, Mora. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church in Mora. Arrangements are by the Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home. www.aifuneralhome.com
