After our 1961 graduation, my family left Duluth for California. In 1962, I joined the United States Marine Corps, then served in 29 Palms, Ca., Chu Lai, Vietnam, Camp Lejune, North Carolina, Iwakuni Japan, Camp Pendleton, Ca, MCRD, San Diego, and Vieques, Puerto Rico. In 1965, my Father and I became the first Father / Son Marine team to serve in the Vietnam war zone together. I was a field radio operator, Marine Drill Instructor, then worked in Finance and Accounting.

During my two years as a Marine Drill Instructor from 1971-1973, I occasionally met recruits from Duluth. I Retired as a Master Sergeant in 1984 working as an Internal Auditor for DOD. Upon retirement, I drove a tour Bus for Sundance Stage Lines in San Diego, and drove tours of the Western United States for nine years. In 1995 I worked at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Ca. as a transportation driver, the advanced up and became the Supervisor of Transportation. I supervised vans which transport customers to and from the Medical Center.

I retired from everything in September of 2010, and currently enjoy leisure and traveling. I have been back to Duluth several times, and have enjoyed meeting friends from the past on those occasions. My brother Don, still has his Soap Box Derby Car sponsored by WDSM-TV.

I am looking forward to our 50 year reunion. Some may remember me working in the cafeteria during study hall selling the cartons of milk in the lunch line. I shot an 8mm film called "A day at Central" in 1961 with shots taken there and in classes. I am working to have that restored and converted into a DVD, then parts posted to "You Tube" on the internet. I plan to bring a copy to the reunion.

I have three children from a previous marriage, 8 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grand Children. All my sons were in the Military, one has retired, and the other will soon. I remarried in 1998 to my present wife, Nancy. We presently live in San Marcos, California. We enjoy living on the coast near Legoland where snow shovels and ice scrapers are unheard of.
