I currently live in the best retirement village in the country. Let me tell you how I arrived here after 61 short years.

Married a Hoosier (Indiana), worked and went to college in Evansville, IN. Received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Evansville. Worked for Kraft Foods, in many segments of the business, for a total of 32 years. 22 years in Evansville and 10 years in Chicago, IL. Retired in '99. In 2000 was asked to help Kraft with a project at Peacock Engineering Co. Finally became serious about retirement when my son made the statement that he would enjoy spending my money when I was gone, as I sure wasn't taking the time to spend it. That was in late 2004.

I moved to the greatest retirement area in the country. A Place called The Villages in Florida. I play pickleball, golf and do boot camp on a daily basis. I participated in the Senior Olympic Games locally, State, and National in basketball and won both gold and silver medals. This year (2010) I am going to State for pickleball. In addition to all of the sports offered, we have many clubs and organizations. I belong to the MN Club and have met many beautiful people from MN-it is a fun group. There also is live entertainment in three venues seven nights a week, 365 days a year. Thus there is a lot of dancing. Another good thing about where I live is that my son lives only 1 hour away from me in Tampa, FL.

If anyone is looking for a place to retire and stay active and young, The Villages is the place. It is truly an adult Disney World.
