Where has 50 years gone? Wish we were on the front end of it instead of the back end! I have been very fortunate to have been married to the love of my life for 47 of the 50 past years. We met at Dr. Cyril Smith's office where I worked during high school and after graduation. Dave, my husband, was a pharmaceutical sales representative. We got married and had four wonderful daughters. We've had our lumps and bumps over the years but it has only made us stronger! I was so lucky to be able to be a stay at home Mom, volunteer at church and school. My, those were the good years! When our youngest was in second grade, I took a position to teach Preschool, taught for 10 years and eventually retired. It was so wonderful to impact so many young lives! I think I've finally attended the last round of graduations this past spring, it's always nice to shock both parents and former student with my memories of them.

In the last decade, I've taught a senior citizen's exercise class three times a week and have worked as the parish priest's housekeeper for the last 6 years. We have been fortunate to have had good health and to be able to travel on several trips and cruises! Some of our favorites include Ireland, Costa Rica, Alaska, and Europe. I think our best and most recent trip in 2010 was hiking in Arizona and Colorado with our granddaughter Caitlin, a soon to be senior at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. It was great fun! Some of my favorite activities are walking with the love of my life and just being home gardening on our wildflower hill in the back of our cottage, cooking for friends and family. We love our "cottage" that we built in 2007 in LeClaire, IA with all of the wildlife at our fingertips; we have many birds, deer, fox, coyote, eagles, hawks, you name it!
