September 14, 1943 to March 17, 1994

Ronald J. Salgy Sr., 50, formerly of Grand Avenue, died Thursday in the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Duluth and graduated from Central High School. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for U.S. Steel's Duluth Works, Mielke Electric and Eastern Electric. He was a past post commander of the West Duluth VFW Post 6320 and a member of the Duluth Honor Guard.

Surviving are a daughter, Connie Salgy of Cloquet; three sons, Ronald Jr. and Russell, both of Duluth and Michael, with the Navy station on the USS Truxton in Bremerton Wash.; a sister, Cindy Pribnow of Duluth; four brothers, Richard of Albuquerque, N.M., Ivan and Mark, both of Duluth and Terry of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and his step-mother Betty Salgy of Duluth.
