Why does age 17 have more of an allure than that of age 67? Life in the last 50 years has centered around education, family, career and travel. I graduated from U.M.D. in 1965 and moved to Stillwater where I was employed as an elementary teacher for 37 years. I earned my Masters in Education from the U of M. I still happily sub in the fall and spring. Ken and I were married in 1968 and enjoy our family of a daughter and son and three granddaughters. For 15 years we traveled across the U.S. and Canada in a motor home and recently sold our last one. In exchange, we now winter in a home in a community called Monte Vista in Mesa, AZ. I am fortunate to have frequent reunions with these East Hillside gals: Kathy (Swor) Nervick, Joyce (Hartmark) Woodson, Mary (Stefano) Watkins, Margaret (Hietala) Thilmany and Mary Lou (Olson) Carlson. Luckily, or not, our husbands have become as compatible as we are. In fact, we all met this past week in the Quad Cities. My other friends are amazed to hear of my endearing friendships with those from Duluth Central High Class of '61. I consider it one of life's best gifts!
