I left Central HS early to join the Navy. I was a goof off and the Navy helped me immensely to grow up and accept responsibility. Returning to Duluth I worked for Arrow Chevrolet and Duluth Motors as a Service Writer. Decided Winter was not my game and moved to Florida in '65 and worked as a Service manger then joined Firestone, holding many positions up to Store manager. I joined Kmart as an Automotive Manager, then District Manager and left to be the General manager of a Pilot Project Auto Chain until it was sold. Went to work for Radiator Specialty Company as National Sales Manager and also worked later for other Automotive Chemical Companies in Sales & Marketing. Finally ended up owning Hi-Tach Products, I joke that I am "chemically dependent" after so many jobs in the chemical field. Recently sold Hi-Tach and started business consulting as Straight Scoop Consulting. That fits me as I am known for being very direct.

I love to spend time with my family, enjoy reading and playing with old cars. Also love to go to the NC Mountains and hike. I've spent time in Africa on a gold mining venture, returned to finalize the sale of my Company. Patti returned from Africa and has joined a local firm that does municipal planning, code enforcement and other services for small municipalities in NC. She enjoys working, loves her job and still has plenty of free time to enjoy our family activities.

I have traveled to all but 4 States, lived in 11 and love North Carolina. I have had a truly Blessed life, a wonderful family, rewarding careers and good health. I thank God daily for the many Blessings He has afforded me. I am still friends with many of my Duluth gang and their families and we visit back and forth as often as possible.
