After graduation in 1961, I attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth and worked part-time for the First American National Bank and for my father at National Cargo Bureau in Duluth. In January 1964, I moved to Santa Monica, CA with several friends. California is "my good luck charm." I worked at Douglas Aircraft Company where I met my husband, Steve. We were married on January 23, 1965 in Santa Monica. In July 1965, we moved to Cape Canaveral, FL where Steve worked on the space program. In November, 1965, our daughter, Christine was born.

We returned to California in 1968. Our son, Steve, was born in August 1969. I resumed my education and graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 1979 with a B.A. in Social Sciences. I went to work at McDonnell Douglas Corporation in Huntington Beach, CA, Missiles and Space Division, as an Associate Engineer in the Software Quality Assurance Department. I traveled to various military facilities to test software programs and helped to start a new department, Computer-Aided Inspection for Quality Engineering and Manufacturing. I wrote and presented a paper, Software Quality Assurance for Computer-Aided Inspection, presented to the Computer-Aided Quality Conference and Expo CAM-I Computer-Aided Manufacturing International in Baltimore Maryland in 1982.

I left McDonnell Douglas in 1985 and returned to school to obtain my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. My intent was to become licensed as a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist. However, I returned to the corporate world and worked in Human Resources. Currently, I work as an independent Human Resources Consultant specializing in Affirmative Action Programs for companies with Federal Contracts. I have been working as a Consultant for over 20 years.

My children are married, no grandchildren. My daughter lives in Alexandria, VA and my son lives in Long Beach, CA. We have travelled to South Korea, going often to Western and Eastern European countries, Hawaii and Mexico. My husband, Steve, retired from Boeing. We live in Orange County, Southern California and enjoy the wonderful weather and the variety -- mountains, desert, canyons and ocean -- that California offers. We love to travel and get together with friends. My interests include: attending seminars and conferences to maintain my certification, Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR), belonging to two (2) book clubs, taking classes at Saddleback College Emeritus Institute, reading, learning Spanish, gardening, knitting, watching golf (although I don't play), movies and, of course, spending time with my husband.
