Judy A. (VanReese) Lawlor, 56, of Owatonna Street died Thursday surrounded by her family in St. Mary's Medical Center after a long illness with Lupus. Judy was born in Albert Lea, Minn., to Benjamin "Buck" and Ruth (Paulson) VanReese. They moved to Duluth when she was a child. Judy was a 1961 graduate of Duluth Central High School. She married J. Ken Lawlor on Oct. 28, 1961. She was a member of St. John's Church and Lupus Foundation of America. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Judy is survived by her husband, J. Ken; her son, Todd (Theresa) of Duluth; her daughter, Tami (Bob) Vatalaro of Duluth; Grammi's grandchildren Danielle and McKenzie Vatalaro and John Lawlor; sisters Connie (Ed) Carl of Lady Lake, Fla., Karen (Laverne) Bail of Duluth and Cindy (Bob) Stafne of Silver Bay; and aunt, Agnes Beckman of Minneapolis; several beloved nephews and nieces; and her special friend, Panda.
