Information update: 09/30/2021

I am working part time as a background investigator for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Washington DC.  The background investigations are for security clearances for federal workers.  I retired from the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations after 35 years in June 2005.  From March to mid-May each year, six days per week, I can be found on a high school baseball field, as a volunteer high school baseball coach, go figure.

Attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) from 61 to 63.
Attended Arizona State University in 63
Attended UMD from 64 to 66.  Graduated in 66.
Commissioned from ROTC in 66 as 2nd Lieutenant in US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI).
First Air Force assignment was Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX from 67 to 70.
Next assignment was Nahkon Phenom, Thailand, from 70 to 71 (Vietnam war).
Next assignment was AFOSI headquarters in Washington, DC, from 72 to 76.
Next assignment was AFOSI in San Antonio, TX from 76 to 79.
Resigned from US Air Force in 79 to operate a restaurant in Sylvan Lake, MI
That didn't turn out well, returned to DC in 82 and rejoined AFOSI as a civilian.
Retired from USAF Reserves as Lieutenant Colonel in 95.
Retired from AFOSI as civilian in 05.
Conduct background investigations for government agencies from 05 to present.

Fondest High School Memory:  Tom Blair and I tried out for the Central basketball team in our junior year and Coach Hastings said, Thanks, don't think we need you.
Education:  Obtained Masters in Communications in 79 from University of Northern Colorado.
Family:  Dianne (spouse) has worked for a local Veterinarian Hospital from 82 to present. Oldest daughter Sherri is a IT contractor employee in the Washington, DC area. Youngest daughter Lauri is an agent for a federal law enforcement agency in Washington, DC. I have two grandsons, Brendan (8) and Michael (5), both play football. 
Travel:  Military travel to Thailand, Greece, Germany, Spain, Philippines, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands.  Pleasure travel to Canada, Mexico, St. Thomas, and the Cayman Islands.
Residences:  San Angelo, TX, Severn, MD, Beltsville, MD, Sylvan Lake, MI, San Antonio, TX, Chesapeake Beach, MD.  The book, "Chesapeake" drew us to our current location of 22 years near the Chesapeake Bay."
Hobbies/Interests:  Playing baseball, fast pitch softball, hockey, watching sports on TV, and projects around the home.  I stopped playing baseball in 2008 at age 65.  I am currently the head JV baseball coach at a local high school.
