January 24, 1943 to November 14, 2010

Garry N. Carlson, 67, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Duluth, died in VNA Hospice House Nov. 14. 2010. Garry was born in Duluth. He received an MFA in art and taught in the art departments of U.W.-Stout and U.M.D., before joining with his wife in owning and operating Caromin House Inc., intermediate care facilities for the developmentally disabled.

He was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin; and parents Kenneth and Violet Carlson. Garry is survived by his wife, Trudy; daughter Caroline; sister Fayth (Gary) Glass; and many relatives and friends, and the past colleagues of Caromin House.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses in Duluth and Vero Beach who gave Garry such superb care during his illnesses. Services will be held at a later date in the spring of 2011 in Fredonia, Wis., and Duluth.
