Hello Classmates; I'm finally putting pen to paper; I have not challenged the computer yet-- too many other projects come first for me. My little life has been spent here in upper east end Duluth in the same house since my age of 22 years. I married, a high school (different schools) sweetheart, Clint Johnson when I was 21 years old; we enjoyed being newly marrieds for about five years before children came along; a son, also a Clint, in 1969 and a set of identical twin girls Amanda and Emily, in 1981. I didn't mind the years between children; my son was a great help with the two girls. The children have been the high light of our lives; grandchild number five is due in July.

I worked six years in office work out of high school (no college back then for most of us girls in the neighborhood). My husband worked as a successful electrician, later a contractor so I was fortunate to stay home with my kids---a job I really appreciated. After the girls left home in the late 90's, I began to work, part-time at the Convention Center-- the DECC. It is a fun job with mostly ladies my own age. We set up and serve in food catering, doing mostly weddings, conventions of all sorts, retirements, proms, the Home Show, etc. We most recently fed (possibly) 5,000 people that come for the Grandma's Marathon Spaghetti Dinner. I will keep this little job going as long as my legs hold up.

I am fortunate to still have my mom; she is now 95 years young. In recent years my sister (class of 1967) and I accompanied mom to her class of 1935 reunion; a very small group now. Who should I find there but two of our teachers: John (teacher and coach) and Charlotte (Phy. Ed. teacher) Vucinovich. She was the organizer of the reunion group. At Northland Country Club, we had a nice lunch and a few hours chatting about family and school days; Charlotte telling us about how she and husband John were not allowed to teach in the same school building, being married and all; she had to go to East High School to keep things legal. In later years the rule was changed and they worked together as our teachers. Because of advanced ages the class of 1935 lunch has come to an end....

I am looking forward to the reunion in July and catching up on our news. The years since high school have gone by at such a fast pace. Stay healthy and live, as my mom has done--way in our 90's.
