It hardly seems possible that 50 years have gone by since we were in high school and now we are looking forward to our reunion. In September of 1961 I entered St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Duluth, along with Central classmates Barb Nordlund and Margaret Hietala. We graduated in August of 1964, earning our RN diplomas. In June of 1964, I married Dr. Roger Mattson, whom I met in church when he came to Duluth to intern at St. Mary's Hospital. We have been married for 46 years and have 1 son and 3 daughters, (all are Central grads!), 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.

We have lived in Duluth for 41 years and in the same house on Cliff Avenue for 36 years. I stayed at home until the children were in school and then worked for the Duluth Schools, part time for 24 years in the Early Childhood Screening Program. We spend our summers with our family at the cabin in Saginaw and especially like to swim and take a Finnish sauna. Roger and I enjoy growing raspberries, rhubarb and dahlias. In my spare time I like to read, knit, sew and make quilts for missions at church. We have traveled with church mission groups to Russia, Jamaica, Germany, Israel, China and Finland and on our own to Hawaii, Alaska and many parts of the US.
