Fifty years, how does one start? In 1961, after graduation from Duluth Central High School, I was married and had four (4) daughters. My daughters gave me seven (7) grandsons and two (2) granddaughters. I lived on Park Point until middle 1962 and then moved to Two Harbors living there until July of 1966. I then lived in Homecroft until 1972 and moved back to Park Point. I was divorced April 1975 and re-married December 1976. I married Richard (Dick) Olson who I am still married to. I have a stepson who gave us two (2) grandsons and one (1) granddaughter. Our twelve (12) grandchildren have given us three (3) great-grandsons and one (1) great-granddaughter.

Dick worked for US Steel Mintac in Virginia, MN in 1978 and we moved to Buhl, MN. During the steelworkers big layoff at the mines in 1982 both Dick and I went back to school. I took a Sales and Marketing class, graduating in June 1986. After our graduations we moved to Marietta, Georgia where we spent 21 years and returned to Cloquet, MN. Nov. 2007. We have rental property in Marrietta where one of our daughters takes care of the homes.

In Georgia I worked in the Commercial Finance field for Heller Financial (they were bought out in late 1999 by CIT Financial) and I went with many of my co-workers at Heller to UPS Capital a new subsidiary of UPS International where I worked in International Commercial Finance until my retirement in 2007.

Dick and I have done a lot of traveling. We have a 2006 Winnebago Journey and have been all over the continental United States except for the Northwest. We have spent the last two (2) winters in Harlingen, TX. We spent three weeks traveling overseas, in 1997, in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In all our travels we have learned the awesomeness of Mother Nature for the amazing wonders of what we have seen.

All in all, I had an up and down life as I'm sure most of us had. In looking back at it now I wouldn't have changed any of it. I had a wondrous life in the heights of high finance, meeting very important people and being able to help the chain of life for many, many people. I received many accolades, awards, and warm fuzzies. God blessed my life's destinies and I am thankful for that.
